Lead Teacher/Co-Director: 

Position: Lead Classroom Teacher and Co-Director of The Wilmot Learning Place, in Wilmot, NH
The Wilmot Learning Place is a small, fully licensed, non-profit preschool for children ages 3-5
located in the Wilmot Community Association building. For 40 years, The WLP has prided itself
on providing high quality, well-rounded, and creative curriculum to address each child’s
intellectual and social well-being. The WLP offers full and half day programming, from early
September thru the end of May.


As Lead Teacher and Co-Director you will maintain the daily operations of the program,
including interaction with children, families and staff; curriculum planning and instruction;
registration and enrollment; and all necessary certifications and licensure. Your expertise will
be valued and respected. You will be supported in the classroom by an experienced assistant
teacher, and administratively by a volunteer Board of Directors comprised of parents and
community members.

Your duties include, but are not limited to:
● Creating and maintaining curriculum
● Developing relationships with, and meeting with our families to provide open communication
and support of their children's learning and developmental needs
● Overseeing staff through positive mentorship, training, and maintaining critical staffing
requirements for licensure, as well as tracking and submitting payroll
● Coordinating maintenance of facilities to provide a safe and state approved learning
● Keeping up with state and CDC regulations, and visits from health, fire and safety inspectors
● Maintaining an organized classroom record keeping system
● Attending monthly staff and BoD meetings

● BA, AS, CDA, or current DoE certification in Early Childhood Education, or displayed ability to
become licensed within 1 year, or otherwise meet the criteria for a center director as outlined
in NH Code of Administrative Rules, section He-C 4002.32 Requirements for Child Care
Personnel in Center Based Programs
● Understanding of NH DoE Early Childhood education/private childcare center standards
● CPR/AED/First Aid (American Red Cross) certification (by September 2022)
● Clear background checks including fingerprint, CHRI, National Sex Offender Registry, etc.
● Excellent communication skills across multiple platforms; meeting with prospective and
current families, staff meetings, crafting newsletters and enrollment packages.


Desired experience:
● Teaching experience/experience working with young children/in a preschool setting
● Supervisory/administrative experience in Early Childhood Education
● Deep understanding of, and demonstrated experience with, the philosophies that embody
our school’s mission and values.

Compensation and Start Date:
This is a full-time, salaried position (40 hours/week, 40 weeks/year), paid bi-weekly throughout
the school year beginning September 2022 and running thru the first week of June 2023. Should
chosen applicant desire, hourly or per diem work can be arranged for this May to become
acquainted with The WLP prior to the start of the contracted for 2022-2023 school year.
